Stability involves The Companion living in ordinary life as one is led by the Spirit to live one's life.
Conversion of Life encompasses self-awareness and reflection. It involves honestly facing our own faults that hurt ourselves and others, and constantly turning to God for healing, forgiveness, and growth.
Obedience means "to listen intently," and this vow is undertaken in a spirit of faith and love in following Christ who was obedient to the will of the Father. It requires that a Companion listens intently to the voice of God and lives their life in obedience to the Rule of Our Holy Father Benedict and the Canon of the Episcopal Church or another faith community in communion with the Episcopal Church.
Our Charism is Radical Hospitality.
The Companions uphold the Episcopal Church's charism of Hospitality articulated in the Baptismal Covenant: "Will you strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being?" (Book of Common Prayer, pp. 304-305)
As a community, we have decided not to narrowly define what Radical Hospitality means. How it works itself out for each Companion is born out of prayer and discernment in community and shared wisdom of fellow Companions.
Welcome! Prayer is an important part of the life of the Companions of Our Lady of Walsingham. If you would like to be included in the prayers of the community, please click below.
"Prayer is the place of refuge for every worry, a foundation for cheerfulness, a source of constant happiness, a protection against sadness." - St John of Chrysostom
