The Companions are an intentionally dispersed community, open to members from all over the world. The Companions welcome inquirers who feel called to the Vowed Religious Life without regard to religious affiliation, gender, gender-identity, sexual orientation, relationship, or marital status.
Our focus is on being one with Our Lord Jesus Christ through intentional presence. We seek to be united in the Presence of God throughout our day in whatever we do. Our vows of Stability, Conversion of Life, and Obedience lend themselves toward a life in His Presence.
The Nicene Creed is our statement of belief. We value Holy Scripture, Tradition, and Reason as equal parts of the whole of our worship.
We are in full communion with the following:
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
The Companions pray the Daily Office using the 1979 Book of Common Prayer. This cycle of prayer unites the Companions throughout the world and is the central profession of our shared prayer life.
Some Companions choose to augment their devotional life using The Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Glenstal Book of Daily Prayer.
Welcome! Prayer is an important part of the life of the Companions of Our Lady of Walsingham. If you would like to be included in the prayers of the community, please click below.
"Prayer is the place of refuge for every worry, a foundation for cheerfulness, a source of constant happiness, a protection against sadness." - St John of Chrysostom
